DS Smith Tecnicarton Collaborates to Protect Marine Environment

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): DS Smith Tecnicarton announced new collaboration with Xaloc Association towards conservation of the marine environment. It demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment. The rising volumes of microplastics in the marine environment have been posing severe threat to the environmkent and its inhabitants.

According to sources, DS Smith Tecnicarton has agreed to collaborate in the form of a financial donation. Accordingly, the company will make a contribution, which will result in collection of the equivalent of approximately 150 kilograms of plastic waste from the marine environment. Incidentally, microplastics formed from degradation of larger fragments are found to cause severe threat to the entire marine ecosystem.

Antonio Cebrián, Commercial Director of DS Smith Tecnicarton noted that the company is firmly committed to environmental protection, sustainability and the circular economy. The company has played a key role in raising public awareness of the risk posed by plastic waste to ecosystems. It is confident that Xaloc's projects will help in delivering cleaner marine environments, he added.
