SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): According to a recent poll conducted by DS Smith as part of the Recycle Week Campaign, there is a significant discrepancy between local government guidelines and people's opinions regarding pizza boxes' capacity to be recycled. According to a survey, about 27% of respondents don't believe pizza boxes can be recycled.
According to the report, people are not particularly aware that a large number of local governments recycle pizza boxes. As a result, a significant number of pizza boxes end up in landfills each year.
Pizza boxes with grease residue can still be recycled, according to DS Smith, because contemporary recycling systems can safely manage trace levels of oil and grease. Only when the box is really dirty or contains food scraps is it deemed unrecyclable. We could cut down on waste by recycling pizza boxes instead of having them landfilled or burned. Additionally, recycled cardboard can be utilized as raw materials to create new goods.
The first step is to get rid of any remaining food. The impacted area may be severed if the box is overly oily or polluted. The box can then be flattened and placed in the recycling container. Additionally, people must make sure that the recycling policies of their local authorities favor the recycling of pizza boxes.
