DS Smith Mill Celebrated Five Decades of Innovation and Resilience

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): DS Smith marked fifty years of innovation and resilience at its Witzenhausen paper mill, Germany.

The Culture and Congress Center in Bad Sooden-Allendorf hosted a festive occasion. About 300 people attended the occasion, including coworkers from DS Smith's Aschaffenburg Mill as well as current and former employees and their partners.

One of DS Smith's most effective operations, Witzenhausen Mill is an essential part of the company's network of facilities for the manufacturing of recycled paper. The facility's new monthly and annual output records from the fiscal year 2024–2025 demonstrate its operational excellence.

The Witzenhausen Mill has been at the forefront of circular economy activities for several decades. The mill has prioritized a number of areas, such as responsible sourcing, waste reduction, and energy efficiency. The mill has been instrumental in lowering the company's carbon dioxide emissions and increasing the recyclability of its goods, in addition to providing improvements in paper manufacture.

Witzenhausen Mayor Lukas Sittel commended the mill's long-lasting influence on the area. He gave particular thanks to the business and all of its workers for their enduring support of the town. He went on to say that the 50th anniversary of the Witzenhausen paper mill is a significant occasion for the town and DS Smith.
