TORONTO (Scrap Monster): On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, North American scrap metal prices showed a mixed performance on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Aluminum, Copper and Brass/Bronze scrap prices declined, while Stainless Steel and Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
The price of Alternator scrap recorded no variation over the previous day.
The prices of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, #1 Copper Bare Bright, and #3 Copper- Light Copper were down by $0.12 per Lb on the Index.
The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery and #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery inched lower by $0.03 per Lb each on the Index.
Copper Radiator scrap prices recorded a decline of $0.05 per Lb.
Copper Transformer scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Cu Yokes prices were down by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day’s prices.
Cu/Al Radiator Ends, Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe prices were unchanged as of February 17, 2026.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Romex Wire prices reported dips by $0.03 per Lb each on the Index.
Heater Cores prices registered a dip of $0.02 per Lb.
The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Starters, Sealed units, and Xmas Lights were unmoved from the previous day’s price levels.
1100 Scrap prices were down by $0.01 per Lb over the day.
The prices of 3003 Scrap, 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe also declined by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
The price of 6063 Extrusions was down by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
Also, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions recorded a fall of $0.01 per Lb when compared with the prior day.
The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe reported no change over the day.
Aluminum Radiators prices were flat on the Index.
Aluminum Radiators/Fe, Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices held steady.
Chrome Wheels prices saw a dip of $0.01 per Lb each as of February 17, 2026.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
Litho Sheets, and MLC Clips recorded a fall of $0.01 per Lb each when compared with the previous day’s price levels.
Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices edged lower by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
The prices of Old Cast and UBC witnessed a decline of $0.01 per Lb over the previous day.
Old Sheet, Painted Siding, and Zorba 90% NF prices also edged lower by $0.01 per Lb on the Index.
Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap, and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices as of February 17, 2026.
201 SS and 301 SS prices were flat on the Index.
304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning and 309 SS witnessed no change in prices as of February 17, 2026.
310 SS prices recorded no variation from the previous day’s level.
330 SS prices held steady on the Index.
Also, 316 SS Solid prices reported no variation on the Index.
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region recorded decline on the Index.
Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends maintained the previous day's price levels as of February 17, 2026.
In the meantime, Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices were down by $0.02 per Lb on the Index.
Copper scrap saw the steepest corrections, particularly #1 and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing, which dropped $0.12 per lb.
Stainless steel scrap prices across 201, 304, 316 and other grades held steady with no day-over-day variation.
Most brass/bronze grades declined by $0.02 per lb, while Brass Radiator/Fe and Brass Radiator Ends were unchanged.
