Three major copper scrap grades advanced CNY 450 per metric ton on September 9, leading a broader rise across Chinese nonferrous scrap. Aluminum and brass/bronze also moved higher, while steel and stainless steel remained unchanged.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices recorded broad gains on the ScrapMonster Price Index on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, led by copper. Aluminum and brass/bronze also advanced, while steel and stainless steel remained steady.

Copper Scrap Prices

Copper posted the strongest gains of the session.

#1 Copper Bare Bright, #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing each increased CNY 450 per MT from the previous day.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire with 85% Recovery gained CNY 200 per MT, while #2 Insulated Copper Wire with 50% Recovery rose CNY 100 per MT.

Copper Transformer scrap remained unchanged.

Cu Yokes and Harness Wire with 35% Recovery each gained CNY 50 per MT.

Cu/Al Radiator scrap advanced CNY 100 per MT, while Heater Cores rose CNY 200 per MT.

Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units recorded no change.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

Aluminum scrap prices also moved higher across the listed categories.

6063 Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots each increased CNY 100 per MT.

Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers gained CNY 50 per MT each.

E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast and Old Sheet rose CNY 100 per MT.

UBC and Zorba 90% INF each increased CNY 50 per MT.

Steel Scrap Prices

Steel scrap prices were unchanged. #1 HMS and Cast Iron Scrap both held steady on the Index.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

Stainless steel also recorded no day-over-day movement.

201 SS, 304 SS Solid, 304 SS Turning and Shred SS were unchanged. Prices for 309 SS, 316 SS Solid and 310 SS also remained flat.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

Brass and bronze scrap prices posted smaller gains than copper.

Brass Radiator increased CNY 50 per MT, while Red Brass and Yellow Brass each advanced CNY 100 per MT.
