Chinese Scrap Metal Market Reports Mixed Price Trend on the Index– June 9, 2026

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices witnessed mixed movements on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Copper: Slight jump in prices
Aluminum: Saw a widespread decline
Brass/Bronze: Edged higher
Stainless Steel: Witnessed a dip in prices
Steel: Flat trend
Copper and brass/bronze scrap prices recorded an increase over the previous day. In contrast, Aluminum and stainless steel scrap prices dropped on the Index. In the meantime, Steel scrap prices remained flat.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing witnessed a jump in prices of CNY 450 per MT each over the previous day.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also edged higher by CNY 450 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were up by CNY 200 per MT. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded an increase of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Copper Transformer scrap and Cu Yokes prices were unchanged on the Index.
Cu/Al Radiator prices were up slightly by CNY 50 per MT, upon comparison with the prior day.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices recorded no variation as of Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
Heater Cores prices saw an increase of CNY 150 per MT on the Index.
In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices remained flat on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions witnessed a decline of CNY 50 per MT in prices over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots prices also dropped by CNY 50 per MT.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers were unchanged on the Index.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged lower by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each as of June 9, 2026.
UBC and Zorba 90% INF prices saw no variation from the previous day’s price.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady as of June 9, 2026.
Cast Iron Scrap reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS: Dropped by CNY 100 per MT
304 SS Solid: Saw a dip of CNY 200 per MT
304 SS Turning: Declined by CNY 200 per MT
309 SS: Edged lower by CNY 250 per MT
310 SS prices recorded a modest decline of CNY 300 per MT as of Tuesday, June 9, 2026.
316 SS Solid prices were down by CNY 250 per MT over the previous day’s prices.
Shred SS prices saw a dip of CNY 200 per MT on the Index.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded a jump as of June 9, 2026.
Brass Radiator: Edged higher by CNY 50 per MT
Red Brass: Saw a jump of CNY 50 per MT over the previous day
Yellow Brass: Witnessed an increase of CNY 50 per MT
