BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese scrap metal prices recorded mixed movements on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Friday, January 9, 2026.
Stainless Steel scrap prices recorded decline over the previous day. Brass/Bronze and Steel scrap prices held steady. In contrast, Copper and Aluminum scrap prices reported jump on the Index.
The #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire and Tubing witnessed a jump in prices of CNY 200 per MT over the previous day.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also edged higher by CNY 200 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were up by CNY 100 per MT. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery recorded no variation over the previous day.
Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.
Cu/Al Radiator prices held steady upon comparison with the prior day.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were flat as of Friday, January 9, 2026.
Heater Cores prices inched higher by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
In the meantime, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices witnessed no change on the Index.
