Chinese Scrap Prices Hold Flat Across Major Metals
Chinese scrap metal buying benchmarks showed no day-over-day movement on October 7, with copper, aluminum, steel, stainless steel and brass/bronze all holding steady on the ScrapMonster Price Index.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Chinese scrap metal prices held steady on the ScrapMonster Price Index as of Wednesday, October 7, 2026, with no daily movement across the major copper, aluminum, steel, stainless steel and brass/bronze categories.
Copper Scrap Prices
Prices for #1 Copper Bare Bright and #1 Copper Wire & Tubing remained unchanged compared with the previous day. #2 Copper Wire & Tubing also held steady on the Index.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire (85% recovery) showed no price movement, while #2 Insulated Copper Wire (50% recovery) likewise remained flat.
Copper Transformer Scrap, Cu Yokes, Cu/Al Radiators, Harness Wire (35% recovery), Heater Cores, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units all recorded no change.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions and Aluminum Ingots remained unchanged from the previous session. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers also recorded no price movement.
E.C. Aluminum Wire, Old Cast, Old Sheet, UBC and Zorba 90% NF all held steady on the Index.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS and Cast Iron Scrap prices remained unchanged on the Index.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
Stainless steel benchmarks remained flat across all listed grades.
- 201 SS prices remained stable.
- 304 SS Solid held steady.
- 304 SS Turning registered no change.
- 309 SS followed a flat trend.
- 310 SS remained unchanged.
- 316 SS Solid held at the previous-session level.
- Shredded Stainless Steel recorded no variation.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
Brass and bronze scrap prices in China showed no day-over-day variation on the Index.
- Brass Radiator prices held steady.
- Red Brass followed a flat trend.
- Yellow Brass recorded no change.
