ScrapMonster Edge: Copper Erases CNY 1,000/MT Loss and Moves Higher
China's three major clean copper grades have now recovered more than their sharp October 22 decline.
Following a CNY 1,000/MT drop on October 22, these grades gained CNY 350 on October 23, CNY 50 on October 26, CNY 300 on October 27 and another CNY 750 on October 28.
The combined CNY 1,450/MT recovery leaves clean copper benchmarks CNY 450/MT above their October 21 closing levels.
Market takeaway: Wednesday's rally more than erased the October 22 selloff, with gains extending across every reported copper grade. Aluminum also recovered, while steel and stainless steel remained stable.
