CTA Declares Prestigious Winners of 2017 Innovation Entrepreneur Awards

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has announced the winners of Annual Innovation Entrepreneur Awards. Individual award was won by Tom DeVesto, Founder and CEO at Como Audio. The companies that won the prestigious award include Go Sun- an innovative cooking solutions firm and Aira- a startup firm that brings technology to help people with disabilities.

The awards were launched by CTA’s It Is Innovation (i3) magazine and the CTA Small Business Council in 2012. It recognizes one Consumer Technology company, one Startup Company and one individual consumer technology executive every year. The winners are selected by an eminent panel of industry judges.

Announcing the winners, Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA noted that this year’s award winners embody technology’s ability to make our lives better. The innovative spirit of technology industry participants makes the industry unrivaled, he added.

Tom DeVesto won the Small Business Executive of the Year Award for his outstanding contribution to design of high-end audio device that provides easy access to different music contents. An entrepreneur for nearly 40 years, DeVesto is known for introducing high-quality products to the consumer electronics market. He had started a new company named “Como Audio” based in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also the inventor of several high performance radio and music system brands.

GoSun- the solar cooking innovation company that offers green cooking solutions won the 2017 ‘Small Business of the Year’ Award. The company produces solar cookers that use patented technology to enable cooking in diversified weather conditions including cloudy and freezing cold climates. The award recognizes the company’s efforts to reduce environmental impacts through their products that guarantee fewer emissions and less pollution.

The ‘Startup of the Year’ award was won by Aira- a company that develops leading technology and services to the visually impaired. The company was honored for its efforts in developing innovative remote assistive technology that help the blind and less visible people to connect with a network of certified agents with the help of wearable smart glasses. The technology provides agents with a dashboard that allows them to see what the blind person sees in real time, thereby helping agents to provide necessary help to its users.
