Cascades Declared Revised Outlook on Q3 Operations

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Kingsey Falls, Quebec-headquartered Cascades Inc,. released updated operational outlook for the third quarter of the current year. The company also declared date of publication of its financial results for the quarter.

According to company press release, the third quarter 2021 financial results will be released before market open on Thursday, November 11, 2021. It will hold a conference call at 9:00 AM ET to discuss the results, which can be accessed by phone or via the company’s website, it said.

In order to optimize downtime scheduling, the company has scheduled to advance maintenance at its Greenpac Mill in Niagara Falls, NY to the third quarter. This is on account of the need for unplanned mechanical repairs of the anaerobic reactor that treats effluents of the Greenpac and Niagara Falls Containerboard mills. The maintenance was initially scheduled for the fourth quarter of the year.

This will lead to temporary reduction in Greenpac production. The total production downtime for the Containerboard segment in the third quarter is estimated at around 26,000 short tons, significantly higher than the estimates of 9,800 short tons provided during the announcement of Q2 results. The production is expected to return to normal levels by October.
