Canfor Corp. Donated $100K to Red Cross In Support of B.C. Fire Relief Efforts

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Canfor Corporation announced donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross in support of British Columbia Fires Appeal. This is towards supporting the fire relief and response efforts. The donation is considered to be part of the company’s ‘Good Things Come From Trees’ program, which offers support to organizations that provide benefits to communities where Canfor operates.

Commenting on the decision, Don Kayne, President and CEO, Canfor Corporation noted that it is committed to supporting its communities, workers, their families and neighbours. The donation by the company is intended to support the tremendous work of the Canadian Red Cross. Furthermore, he thanked the firefighters, first responders, volunteers and individuals for their tireless efforts in keeping people safe.

The donation will support immediate relief efforts for families affected by the wildfires and formulation of long-term plan to prepare for similar events in future.

Those, whose primary residence has been severely affected by wildfires or who have been displaced under an evacuation order for 10 consecutive days or more, are eligible for direct financial assistance.

In order to receive support, affected residents must register with the Canadian Red Cross on 1-800-863-6582.
