Camden Timbers to Restart Victory Lumber Sawmill in Arkansas

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Astara Capital Partners LLC announced formation of Camden Timbers LLC, which will look into acquisition of assets and potential restart of Victory Lumber, LLC- a Southern Yellow Pine sawmill located in Camden, Arkansas. This is Astara’s second sawmill investment, following its earlier acquisition of Cross City, LLC in April last year.

Michael Ranson, Managing Partner, Astara said that a group of sawmill executives, with whom he has worked previously, had approached him in a couple of years back. The team was led by Brett Bray, who was the main driving force behind the restart of Caddo River Forest Products in Arkansas recently.

Mr.Bray commented that he is excited to once again partner with Michael as well as the teams at Astara. He highlighted the tremendous opportunity to greatly improve the mill’s infrastructure and bring jobs back to Ouachita County and the surrounding area. The team is eager to work together to make Camden Timbers a success, he added. Furthermore, he reminded the economic contribution to local community that the Caddo River restart has delivered.

Incidentally, Camden Timbers has reportedly finalized a comprehensive plan for significant investment in the mill infrastructure.
