SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Asante Gold Corporation announced that the Process Plant and associated equipment have started operations at the Bibiani Gold Mine. The commissioning of the principal equipment follows intensive period of refurbishment and upgrades. The refurbishment program was conducted by a team of professionals from Harlequin International.

The company will undertake a 14-day period of intermittent operation, to test controls, calibrate operating systems and align critical equipment under full load. It expects to begin 24 hours per day operation by the end of June this year. Furthermore, the company said that it remains on track to pour gold in the third quarter of 2022. It must be noted that the Bibiani gold mine had come out of care and maintenance in September last year.
According to company press release, the material movement at the mine is currently running at 6M tonnes per month. The stockpiling of mineralized material on the Run of Mine (ROM) Pad has been ongoing since February this year, with the ROM Pad holding in excess of 200,000 tonnes of mineralized material as of late May.
Dave Anthony, President and CEO, Asante Gold noted that the company is pleased that the refurbishment efforts at the mine were delivered ahead of schedule. With the process plant in operation, the company is ready to advance with Start of Operations, he added.
