In the meeting, he committed to make investment of nearly $3 billion during the initial phase of the project, in addition to thousands of jobs generated during the development stage.

Upon completion, the project is expected to create around 4,000 long-term jobs. The company intends to provide necessary training to impart skills to locals so as to recruit them into key positions, thereby contributing to the provincial and state economies.

Also, Barrick plans to formulate a community development committee to suggest socio-economic development in the area, so as to ensure maximum benefit to the surrounding communities.
