This is the third consecutive year that the Cleveland-headquartered AK Steel has been selected for the award.

ArcelorMittal, Nucor and AK Steel Are Proud Winners of GM Awards

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Three integrated steelmakers were awarded with the General Motors (GM) 2019 Supplier Quality Excellence Award. They include ArcelorMittal, Nucor and AK Steel. The winners were recognized during a virtual ceremony held on June 24, 2020.

Nucor Corporation has been selected for second year in a row. Leon Topalian, President and Chief Executive Officer of Nucor Corporation congratulated its 27,000 teammates on the award. He thanked GM and stated that the company looks forward to continue its partnership in future.

This is the third consecutive year that the Cleveland-headquartered AK Steel has been selected for the award. Lourenco Goncalves, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer noted that the prestigious award recognizes its dedicated team’s outstanding technical and commercial support to GM.

Three of ArcelorMittal’s facilities received the honor- ArcelorMittal USA’s Indiana Harbour, I/N Tek and Kote facilities, AM/NS and ArcelorMittal Dofasco. John Cardwell, ArcelorMittal’s director of automotive sales said that winning the award at multiple locations will help the company to maintain its market leadership position with General Motors.

The award winners are chosen by a global team of GM purchasing, engineering, quality, manufacturing and logistics executives.
