SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): AMNS-India- the joint venture project in India between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel announced that ewport-based Premier Forest Products it will set up a cold rolling mill (CRM) with advanced steel processing lines at its flagship Hazira plant. The project is part of the INR 8,500 crore downstream expansion plan. The CRM will further boost the production of value added products. The commissioning is scheduled to be held in 2024.
The installation of CRM is expected to boost energy efficiency, apart from optimizing zinc consumption and providing a high level of corrosion resistance, AMNS India said in a statement.

The CRM will have a continuous galvanizing and annealing line (CGAL) with a capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA), which will produce cold rolled and highly resistant steel coils processed with aluminum-silicon (Al-Si) coating. Also, the new continuous galvanizing line (CGL) with 0.5 MTPA capacity will produce galvanized/galvannealed (GI/GA) coated flat steel.
The expansion will help AMNS India to meet the growing high-end steel market's demand and enhance its portfolio of value-added, sustainable steel.
