The first such center will be opened in Novi, Michigan.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Atlanta-headquartered aluminum rolling and recycling major Novelis, Inc., owned by Hindalco Industries declared plans to establish a chain of Customer Solution Centers (CSCs) to boost collaboration with automotive majors. The CSCs alongside automotive customers will drive industry transformations through innovative solutions. The first such center will be opened in the City of Novi in Oakland County, Michigan.

According to company press release, the centers will be led by an expert team comprising of industry-leading researchers, designers and engineers who will work closely with automakers to design customized solutions. The CSCs will help customers to innovate with aluminum, by combining research and technical platforms, operations and commercial development. Each such center will employ modern technologies, high-tech machinery and state-of-the-art visualization technologies.

Initially, Novelis will focus on automotive application development, joining technology and innovative, high-strength, high-forming alloys. Apart from offering support to material and design application, the proposed CSCs will promote sustainability and recyclability, so as to promote closed-loop systems and curb harmful carbon dioxide emissions.

In the next phase, the company plans to establish more CSCs in Europe and China. Further to this, it aims to establish cross-regional teams, who will be entrusted with the duty of ramping up product development for the auto industry.
