The collaboration combines the technical expertise of both the companies.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Atlanta-based Novelis, Inc. announced that it has entered into a joint development agreement with DRT Holdings, LLC to boost recycled content in aluminum beverage can ends. The new partnership aims to deliver significant improvement in the manufacturing process for sustainable aluminum can ends.
DRT and Novelis are both well-known industry leaders in metal packaging. Currently, Novelis' beverage packaging worldwide contains an average of about 85% recycled material. With the ability to produce up to 3,000 ends per minute, DRT is a top supplier of high-speed manufacturing equipment for beverage can ends. Both firms' technical knowledge is combined in this collaboration.
Through the optimization of beverage can ends' design, conversion process, and sustainability features, the alliance will concentrate on a "uni-alloy" design solution. It comes at a critical moment when the worldwide aluminum beverage packaging sector searches for creative ways to accelerate the achievement of sustainability targets. The two businesses will work to provide solutions that the worldwide industry can use.
The collaboration with DRT is a significant step in Novelis's efforts to hasten the shift to a more circular aluminum beverage packaging sector, according to Greg Schlicht, Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer.
