Every Can Counts US Reached New Milestone in Aluminum Beverage Can Collection

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Every Can Counts US- the partnership between aluminum beverage can manufacturers and aluminum suppliers announced that itr has reached a major milestone by collecting more than 75,000 aluminum beverage cans for recycling during spring and summer festival season. Four major festivals and events contributed to the robust collection figures.

During the SweetWater 420 Fest in Atlanta in April, a total of 60,000 cans and aluminium cups were collected for recycling over a period of three days. The proceeds from the recycling of these cans were donated to Habitat for Humanity.

Over 13,000 aluminum beverage cans were collected during the two-day iHeartRadio’s Bull Float Trip event in Leasburg, Missouri in August this year. The on-site collection of cans was carried out in partnership with Mid-American Clean Future.

The World Pride Street Festival in Washington, D.C held in June this year collected approximately 1,000 cans, in partnership with the Capital Pride Alliance. Also, an additional 1,000 cans were collected during the two-day sailing regatta, SailGP Race in New York City held in June.

Tim Ebner, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Can Manufacturers Institute and a lead organizer of the Every Can Counts U.S. chapter thanked the efforts of sponsors, volunteers, and festivalgoers. He added that the collected cans will be processed to make new cans, which will hit the market within two months.
