The Aluminum Association Eager to Work with Trump Administration

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster):  The Aluminum Association released a statement following President Donald Trump’s inauguration.

The Association's president and CEO, Charles Johnson, greeted President Trump on his inauguration and stated that the organization is forward to collaborate with his administration on the common objective of bolstering the domestic manufacturing sector, which includes aluminum. According to President Trump, the nation's economy and security depend on a robust domestic aluminum industry. Johnson recalled that he had also made steps to support the business during his first tenure.

In recent years, the domestic aluminum industry has experienced enormous expansion. Two new greenfield aluminum rolling mills have been constructed for the first time since 1980. According to the statement, the association reaffirmed its determination to back the administration's initiatives to strengthen American aluminum production.

The Association urged the government to encourage investment in the production of aluminum and to implement strict trade enforcement policies. Additional suggestions include measures to increase aluminum use and collection as well as acknowledging the metal's importance in maintaining national security and the economy.
