Aluminum Plant Announced $100 Million Expansion

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Arconic- the leading manufacturer of value-added aluminum products announced major expansion to its eastern Tennessee. The proposed capacity expansion of industrial aluminum and aluminum sheets for beverage cans is expected to add additional 200 jobs to the site.

The announcement towards expansion of operations at the Blount County manufacturing facility was made by Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe and Arconic officials. The expansion is in response to growing aluminum demand. The project is being supported by the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD), which has been instrumental over the past several years in implementing various major economic development projects.

Gov. Bill Lee reminded that Arconic has been a leading employer in Blount County, with a storied history in the American aluminum manufacturing sector. TNECD Commissioner Bob Rolfe thanked the company for its ongoing commitment and investment in East Tennessee.

Meantime, Nandu Srinivasan, president of Arconic Global Rolled Products, North America noted that the expansion will enable the company to meet the strong customer demand for industrial products and can sheets.
