SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Leading aluminum recycler and manufacturer Alumicor plans to set up a new operational base in Askar, Bahrain. The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has extended support for the aluminum recycling and manufacturing factory, which will employ state-of-the-art technologies.
It must be noted that aluminum manufacturing industry has been a major contributor to Bahrain’s export revenues. The support the project by Tamkeen is in line with its decision to support the country’s industrial sector, which has been a significant driver of the country’s economy.
The cutting-edge aluminum dross processing technology is estimated to have the capacity to recycle over 48,500 tons of aluminum dross and waste every year. This is almost equivalent to almost 50% of the total aluminmum waste generated by the country’s manufacturing activities.
By partnering with Alumicor, Tamkeen expects to offer local manufacturers opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, minimise waste, and improve profitability. Moreover, it will result in transfer of knowledge between Alumicor’s international operations its local workforce.
The ambitious project is anticipated to provide huge acceleration to Bahrain’s industrial growth. It will create over 30 new job opportunities.
