Over the course of the week, the United States produced 1.706 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel.
SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): According to the American Iron and Steel Institute's (AISI) most recent weekly domestic production figures, U.S. weekly raw steel production grew by roughly 0.60% in the week ending April 26, 2025. A comparison between this week and the same week last year served as the basis for this.
The United States produced 1.706 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel during the week. 76.0% of the domestic mill capacity was being used. Remember that production reached 1.695 million NT during the same week last year, with a slightly better capacity utilization rate of 76.3%.

Compared to the previous week, which concluded on April 19, 2025, when crude steel output reached 1.682 million NT at a capability utilization rate of 74.9%, the production for the week ending April 26, 2025, increased 1.4%.
With 729,000 net tons, the Southern region produced the most. 547,000 net tons were generated during the week in the Great Lakes region. North East-126, Midwest-236, and Western-68 are the other regions' productions (in thousand net tons).
With a capability utilization rate of 74.7%, the adjusted year-to-date output as of April 26, 2025, was 27.601 million net tons. Compared to the same period in 2024, when production was 27.924 million net tons with a capacity utilization rate of 75.9%, this indicates a 1.2% reduction.
