8th April, 2024-North American Scrap Metal Prices: A Mixed Bag

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American scrap prices displayed mixed trend on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on April 8^th, Monday. Aluminum scrap prices witnessed surge on Index, whereas Copper scrap prices edged lower on Index. Stainless Steel scrap prices held steady. Meantime, Brass/Bronze and Steel scrap prices remained unchanged on Index over the previous day.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing decreased by $0.02 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also down by $0.02 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright inched lower by $ 0.02 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery were flat over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices were unchanged. #3 Copper-Light copper prices declined by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of Copper Radiator scrap witnessed no change from previous day’s levels. Copper Transformer Scrap prices remained unchanged. CuYokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices too reported no change from the previous day.

Meanwhile, the prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe held steady on Aprill 8th, 2024.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Heater cores prices were flat on Index.

The price of Romex Wire witnessed no change during the day.     

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Sealed units, Starters and Xmas Lights saw no change from previous day price levels.

 Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices were up by $0.01 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were up on $0.01 per Lb on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 6063 Extrusions/Fe too were up by $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions inched higher by $0.01 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6061 Extrusions increased by $0.01 per Lb each when compared with the previous day.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained flat. Aluminum Radiators too witnessed no change. Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices increased by $0.01 per Lb. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices edged higher by $.01 per Lb each on April 8^th, 2024.

Chrome Wheels were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices increased by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips witnessed an increase of $0.01 per Lb from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too increased by $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of Old Cast and UBC saw an increase of $0.01 per Lb each over the previous day.

Old Sheet, Painted Siding and Zorba 90% NF prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat over the previous day.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too witnessed no change on 8^th April, 2024.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady on Index.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also reported no change in prices in comparison with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices witnessed no change over the day.

301 SS, 304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning recorded no change on April 8^th, 2024.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices were flat on a daily basis.

310 SS prices were unchanged from the prior day.

Meantime, 330 SS prices too witnessed no change on Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region remained totally flat on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator scrap prices reported no change in prices on Monday, April 8^th, 2024.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices maintained the previous day price levels.

Red Brass, Red Borings and Yellow Brass prices too remained flat on Index.
