1st June, 2023: North American Scrap Metal Prices Surged on Index

TORONTO (Scrap Monster): The North American copper and aluminum scrap prices continued to surge higher on ScrapMonster Price Index  as on 1^st June, Thursday. Stainless Steel, Brass and Bronze scrap prices too were up on Index. Meantime, Steel scrap prices held steady on Index when matched with the day before.

Copper Scrap Prices

The price of Alternator scrap remained unchanged on Index. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing rose by $0.06 per Lb. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing prices were also up by $0.06 per Lb. The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright went higher by $ 0.06 per Lb.

The prices of #1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery edged higher by $0.01 per Lb over the previous day. #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices too were up by $0.01 per Lb on Index. #3 Copper-Light copper prices edged higher by $0.06 per Lb.

Copper Radiator prices were up by $0.02 per Lb.

Copper Transformer Scrap prices were flat on Index. CuYokes and Cu/Al Radiator Ends prices too were unchanged from the previous day.

The prices of Cu/Al Radiators and Cu/Al Radiators/Fe witnessed no change on June 1^st, 2023.

Harness Wire 35% Recovery and Romex Wire prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb each on Index.

The price of Heater Cores edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

The prices of Scrap Electric Motors, Xmas Lights, Sealed units and Starters recorded no change from previous day price levels.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

1100 Scrap prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the day. The prices of 3003 Scrap too were up by $0.02 per Lb on Index. The prices of 356 Aluminum Wheels and 5052 Scrap too were up by $0.02 per Lb each.

The prices of 6061 Extrusions increased by $0.01 per Lb over the day.

Meantime, prices of 5052 Scrap and 6063 Extrusions were up by $0.02 per Lb each when compared with the previous day.

The prices of 6063 Extrusions/Fe inched higher by $0.01 per Lb.

The prices of Al/Cu Radiators and Al/Cu Radiators/Fe remained unchanged over the previous day. Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Radiators/Fe prices too were unchanged on Index. Aluminum Transformers and Breakage 50% Recovery prices too held steady on June 1^st, 2023.

Chrome Wheels and E.C Aluminum Wire prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb and $0.03 per Lb respectively over the previous day.

Litho Sheets and MLC Clips surged by $0.02 per Lb from previous day’s levels.

Mixed Aluminum Turnings prices too soared by $0.02 per Lb.

The prices of Old Cast, UBC, Old Sheet and Painted Siding were up by $0.02 per Lb each over the previous day.

Zorba 90% NF prices inched higher by $0.01 per Lb.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 Bundle prices remained flat.

The prices of #1 Busheling and #1 HMS too reported no change on 1^st June, 2023.

HMS 80/20 prices held steady.

Sheet Metal, Shredded Auto Scrap and Structural Steel also saw no change in prices when compared with the previous day.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS and 301 SS prices reported no change.

304 SS Solid prices edged higher by $0.02 per Lb over the previous day.

304 SS Turning too were up by $0.02 per Lb in prices on June 1^st, 2023.

309 SS and 310 SS prices increased by $0.02 per Lb and $0.03 per Lb respectively on a daily basis.

330 SS prices were up by $0.04 per Lb from the prior day.

Meantime, 316 SS Solid prices too surged higher by $0.02 per Lb on Index.

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in the North American region soared on Index.

70/30 Brass Scrap, 80/20 Brass Scrap, 85/15 Brass Scrap and Brass Radiator prices were up by $0.01 per Lb each on June 1^st, 2023.

Brass Radiator /Fe and Brass Radiator Ends prices witnessed no change on Index.

Red Brass, Yellow Brass and Rod Borings prices increased by $0.01 per Lb each on Index.
