Recycle mobile phones for a noble cause

LONDON (Scrap Monster): The UK's leading cancer prevention charity the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) is calling on people to recycle their mobile phones in order to aid its vital research and education programmes.

Many people will have been given new phones for Christmas and will have no need for their old devices so should think about recycling their old mobiles with the WCRF to raise funds for the charity.

General manager at the WCRF Teresa Nightingale told the Milton Keynes Citizen that people should throw out their old devices in order to try and aid its vital prevention work.

"By donating an unwanted item you could help us carry on our research and education programmes into the link between lifestyle and cancer,” she added.

Last month the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills urged people to recycle their mobile phones and other electronic items as if the phones aren't recycled they will end up in a landfill site.
