According to StatCan, Canada’s total iron and scrap charged to furnaces amounted to 14.5 million tons in 2011, down by 0.8% from a year ago.
Canada's total steel pipe production in 2011 rose 0.4% to 2.3 million tons and its total shipments of steel pipe products increased 3.4% to 2.55 million tons.
Furthermore, Canadian steel pipe exports in 2011 amounted to 916,313 tons, rising by 0.7% year on year.
