Preliminary dumping rates were set out for steel wire rod imported from China, by the government of the United States and also signaled that the government might impose punitive charges on the products.
WASHINGTON (Scrap Monster): The department had already made the decision regarding the alloy steel wire rod and carbon, that these imports from China would be sold in US, charged with dumping margins varying from 106.19% to 110.25%.
The U.S International trade Commission (ITC) and Commerce Departments are still to make final decisions regarding the punitive duties to be imposed on the imports. If the ITC ends up making a negative decision, then the investigation is to be terminated completely.
The investigation is taking place based on the complaint registered by ArcelorMittal and five other U.S companies in the state of Illinois. The complaint stated that, the products are being sold below the fair price of the products in the market of US, and the complaint also stated that, the Chinese exporters along with the producers received unjust government subsidiaries.
According to the official IUS data, the exports from China is estimated to be 313 million dollars. Ministry of Commerce in China asked the US government to stand beside them and to work with government to provide open and free, justified trading environment.
