Taiwanese wire rod producers keep prices flat for May

Major Taiwanese wire rod manufacturers have announced their decision to leave the May prices unchanged

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): Major Taiwanese wire rod manufacturers have announced their decision to leave the May prices unchanged. Taiwanese Feng Hsin and Quintain Steel announced that May prices will remain flat over the previous month.
According to company press release by Feng Hsin, the 305 wire rod prices for May will remain unchanged. This is the fifth straight month that the prices have remained flat. The prices of 1008A products will be NT$20,400 per ton. Also, the prices of S45C round bars(13mm to 100mm) will remain at NT$21,100 per ton and those of SCM440 roundbars (below 100mm) will be NT$25,100 per ton.
Quintain Steel has remained the wire rod prices unchanged for the fourth month in a row now. The prices for Al-killed wire rods will be NT$24,100 per ton; those for rimmed wire rods will be NT$22,600 per ton; those for blast furnace (BF) killed wire rods will be NT$21,600per ton and those for electric furnace (EF) killed wire rods will be NT$20,000 per ton.
As per industry sources, other major Taiwanese wire rod producers including Yieh Hsing may also keep the prices flat for May.
