SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly global market price trends for the different scrap metal categories on the Scrap Monster Price Index for the week of March 7–13, 2025, are given in the report that follows:
The price of copper scrap saw a significant increase of 4.49% over the previous week.
North America
While #1 Copper Wire & Tubing was up 4.48% from the beginning of the week to close the week at $4.66 a pound, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright grew by 4.39% over the previous week. Similarly, the price of #2 Copper Wire & Tubing increased by $0.20 per pound, from $4.36 to $4.56.

As of Thursday, March 13, 2025, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index went up 4.39% for the week, from $4.56 to $4.76 per pound. The cost of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing increased slightly over the previous week, from $4.46 to $4.66 per pound. #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had a little increase of 4.59% to $4.56 per pound by the conclusion of the week.
USA Midwest
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright has edged higher by 4.48% during the previous week. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing saw a modest 4.59% upside at the end of the week, going up from $4.36 to $4.56 per pound. The price of copper scrap in the #2 Copper Wire and Tubing category witnessed a jump of 4.69%. The price per pound increased from $4.26 to $4.46 during the week.
USA West Coast
The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright rose 4.31% over the course of the week, from $4.64 to $4.84 per pound, according to the ScrapMonster Index. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing's price increased slightly this week, from $4.54 to $4.74 per pound. The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by 4.50% by the end of the week, from $4.44 to $4.64 per pound.
China
The previous week, which concluded on March 13, 2025, saw a minor increase in the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the Index. The commodity's weekly closing price was CNY 78,200 per MT, higher than the price of CNY 77,200 per MT the week before. The price of #1 Copper Wire & Tubing increased by 1.36% over the previous week. Additionally, at the end of the week, the price of the Index's #2 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by 1.38%, from CNY 72,500 per MT to CNY 73,500 per MT.
Europe
The weekly price of #1 Copper Bare Bright stayed at $6,000 per tonne from the week before. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing on the Index remained at $5,200 per tonne, unchanged from the previous week. Furthermore, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing on the Index remained unchanged during the week ending March 13, 2025.
The prices for brass scrap inched higher by 2.69% from the previous week.
North America
By the end of the week, Red Brass was up from $2.68 to $2.75 per pound. On the Index, Yellow Brass also rose. The commodity's price increased by 2.77 percent, from $2.53 to $2.60 a pound.

China
The week ending March 13, 2025, saw a slight increase in the price of red brass and yellow brass. According to the Index, the price of Red Brass increased from CNY 38,550 per MT to CNY 38,750, while the price of Yellow Brass increased by 0.56% week over week to end at CNY 35,900 per MT.
The Index's aluminum scrap prices recorded marginal increase of 1.28% over the previous week.
North America
The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire went up from $1.20 per pound the previous week to $1.22 per pound, a 1.67% rise. In the week ending March 13, 2025, the price of 6063 Extrusions increased by 1.04% compared to the previous week. The price of Old Cast increased by 1.22% on the Index. Furthermore, UBC's prices increased by 1.20% per week.

E.C. Aluminum Wire's price rose 1.67% to $1.22 per pound over the previous week. The ScrapMonster Index indicates that the price of 6063 extrusions increased by 1.04%. The prices of Old Cast in the Index increased by 1.20 percent over the week. Additionally, UBC's pricing increased by 1.19% to $0.85 per pound as of March 13, 2025.
China
E.C. Aluminum Wire prices were up by 0.51% on the Index, rising from CNY 19,650 per MT to CNY 19,750 per MT. Additionally, the price of 6063 Extrusions increased by 0.54% to CNY 18,650 per MT, when compared with the previous week. The price of Old Cast edged higher by 0.54% on the Index as of March 13, 2025. UBC prices recorded a jump of 0.40% during the week to close at CNY 12,700 per MT.
Europe
For the whole week, the price of Old Cast remained fixed at $1,050 a tonne. Additionally, according to the ScrapMonster Index, UBC prices stayed at $1,250 per tonne, unchanged from the previous week.
The prices of Stainless Steel scrap recorded a marginal increase of 4.62% over the previous week’s prices.
North America
An examination of 304 SS Solid pricing trend indicates that the commodity's price recorded an increase of 4.62% over the prior week. The price of the product ended the week at $0.68 per pound, up from $0.65 per pound the previous week.

The #1 HMS pricing did not change during the past week. The price of the commodity stayed steady at $370 per MT. At $425 per MT over the week, prices for Shredded Auto Scrap also didn't change. As the previous week, HMS 80/20 prices stayed steady at $300 per MT. Furthermore, during the week, the price of #1 Busheling were unmoved at $445 per MT.
China
Over the previous week, there was no variation in #1 HMS prices. At CNY 1,630 per MT, the commodity's price remained stable.
Europe
The price of #1 HMS remained steady throughout the week, at around $170 per MT according to the ScrapMonster Index. Shredded Auto Scrap held steady at $130 per MT during the week, as it had the week before.
Prices for lead scrap were stable as compared to the previous week.
North America
The Scrap Auto Batteries pricing charts showed that the commodity's prices had not moved from the week before. The price per pound stayed steady at $0.22 for the entire week.
