Weekly Scrap Metal Price Report- June 6, 2025

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index rose from $4.57 to $4.80 per pound as of Thursday, June 5, 2025, a weekly increase of 5.03%.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The following report provides the weekly global market price trends for the various scrap metal categories on the Scrap Monster Price Index for the week of May 30 to June 5, 2025:

 

Copper Scrap Prices

Over the previous week, there was an increase of 5.15% in copper scrap prices.

North America

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright increased by 5.03% in the last week. The closing price of #1 Copper Wire & Tubing was $4.70 per pound, up 5.15% from the start of the week. In a similar vein, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by 5.26% week-on-week, from $4.37 to $4.60 per pound.

USA East Coast

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index rose from $4.57 to $4.80 per pound as of Thursday, June 5, 2025, a weekly increase of 5.03%. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing went from $4.47 to $4.70 per pound, a slight rise from the prior week. By the end of the week, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had increased by 5.26% to $4.60 per pound.

USA Midwest

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index were up by 5.15% for the week, from $4.47 to $4.70 per pound, as of Thursday, June 5, 2025. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing went up from $4.37 to $4.60 per pound, up by a little from the prior week. By the end of the week, the average price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had increased 5.39% to $4.50 per pound.

USA West Coast

According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright increased by 4.91% throughout the week, from $4.68 to $4.91 per pound. Last week, the price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by 5.02%. By the conclusion of the previous week, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had gone up 5.13% from $4.48 to $4.71 per pound.

China

The previous week, which concluded on June 5, 2025, saw a little increase in the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the Index. At CNY 77,250 per MT, the weekly ending price was higher than the previous week's price of CNY 76,900 per MT. The price of #1 Copper Wire & Tubing increased by 0.48% from the previous week. Additionally, at the end of the week, the price of the Index's #2 Copper Wire and Tubing went up by 0.48%, from CNY 72,200 per MT to CNY 72,550 per MT.

Europe

The weekly price of #1 Copper Bare Bright stayed at $6,000 per tonne from the week before. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing remained at $5,200 per tonne on the Index, unchanged from the previous week. Furthermore, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing on the Index remained constant during the week ending June 5, 2025.

 

Brass Scrap Prices

The price of brass scrap went higher by 2.17% over the previous week.

  

North America

By the end of the week, Red Brass prices had gone up from $2.85 to $2.91 per pound. On the Index, Yellow Brass also saw a slight increase. The commodity's price increased by 2.22%, from $2.70 to $2.76 per pound.

Over the last week, Red Brass's price edged higher by 2.11%. At the end of the week, Yellow Brass's price per pound also increased from $2.70 to $2.76.

USA Midwest

Red Brass's reported price increased by 2.15% from the previous week, from $2.79 to $2.85 per pound. The Index also showed that the price of Yellow Brass had increased. The price of the commodity increased by 2.30 percent.

USA West Coast

Red Brass was up notably by 5.61% from the previous week, trading at $3.01 a pound as of Thursday, June 5, 2025. Additionally, Yellow Brass's price per pound increased by 5.99% from the previous week.

China

The week ending June 5, 2025, saw an increase in the price of Red Brass and Yellow Brass. According to the Index, the price of Red Brass rose by 0.26% to CNY 38,450 per MT towards the end of the week, while the price of Yellow Brass increased marginally by 0.28% to end the week at CNY 35,600 per MT.

 

Aluminum Scrap Prices

The Index's aluminum scrap prices recorded marginal decline of 0.96% over the previous week.

North America

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire remained stable on the Index in comparison to the previous week. The price of 6063 Extrusions at the conclusion of the week ending June 5, 2025, was $0.87 per pound. The index showed a 1.35 percent decline in Old Cast prices. In addition, UBC's prices decreased by 1.33% over the week prior.

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire reported no variation from the prior week. During the week ending June 5, 2025, the price of 6063 Extrusions was down by 1.14% when compared to the previous week. The Index showed that the price of Old Cast has edged lower by 1.35%. Additionally, UBC's prices witnessed a decline of 1.33% on the Index during the previous week.

USA Midwest

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire hasn't changed since a week ago. Last week, the product's price remained constant at $1.11 per pound. In the meantime, 6063 Extrusions' price decreased by 1.16% from the week before. Old Cast and UBC had price decreases of 1.39% and 1.35%, respectively, from the previous week, according to the ScrapMonster Index.

USA West Coast

E.C. Aluminum Wire's price witnessed no variation over the previous week. The ScrapMonster Index indicates that the price of 6063 Extrusions witnessed a marginal decline of 1.14% week-on-week. The prices of Old Cast in the Index were down by 1.33% over the week. Additionally, UBC's pricing also dropped by 1.32% as of June 5, 2025.

China

E.C. aluminum wire ended the week at CNY 18,950 per MT, a decrease of 0.26% from the previous week. In addition, the price of 6063 Extrusions decreased by 0.28% from the previous week. The price of Old Cast was down 0.28% on the Index as of June 5, 2025. UBC prices on the Index remained stable at CNY 12,350 per MT during the week.

Europe

The price of Old Cast was flat at $1,050 per tonne for the entire week. The ScrapMonster Index also shows that UBC prices remained same from the previous week at $1,250 per tonne.

 

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices 

The prices of Stainless Steel scrap recorded no change over the previous week’s prices.

North America

The weekly pricing trend analysis of 304 SS Solid showed that the commodity's price remained steady at $0.64 per pound, with no change over the previous week.

The preceding week, which ended on June 5, 2025, saw no change in the price of 304 SS Solid. The commodity's price was flat at $0.64 per pound.

USA Midwest

There was no change in 304 SS solid prices from week to week. At the end of the week, the Index's prices were $0.64 per pound.

USA West Coast

For the week ending June 5, 2025, 304 SS solid prices stayed flat at $0.64 a pound.

China

The price of 304 SS Solid held steady during the week. In the week ending June 5, 2025, the stated price of the commodity remained unchanged at CNY 10,100 per MT.

Europe

The price of 304 SS Solid did not change from the previous week's price of $1,070 per ton.

 

Steel Scrap Prices

Steel Scrap prices reported no change when compared with the previous week.

North America

Over the previous week, there has been no change in the price of the #1 HMS. The commodity's price remained steady at $320 per MT. Additionally, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained constant at $370 per MT throughout the week. HMS 80/20 was priced at $265 per MT, same like it was the week before. Similarly, #1 Busheling's pricing remained unchanged throughout the week.

According to the ScrapMonster Index, #1 HMS's prices remained stable at $320 per MT throughout the week. The weekly price for Shredded Auto Scrap was $370 per MT, the same as the previous week. Throughout the week, the price of HMS 80/20 remained constant at $265 per MT. Additionally, the #1 Busheling rates in the Index did not change.

USA Midwest

The prices of #1 HMS have not altered in the past week. Shredded Auto Scrap was likewise flat during the week. The HMS 80/20 pricing for the Index stayed at $265 per MT. #1 Busheling remained at $420 per MT in the week ending June 5, 2025.

USA West Coast

The price of the #1 HMS has not changed in the past week. The price of the commodity stayed at $320 per MT. Over the course of the week, prices for Shredded Auto Scrap also stayed constant at $370 per MT. The price of HMS 80/20 stayed at $265 per MT from the week before. Furthermore, during the week, the price of #1 Busheling was unchanged at $420 per MT.

China

The #1 HMS prices remained unchanged from the previous week. The price of the commodity held steady at CNY 1,630 per MT.

Europe

According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 HMS stayed consistent throughout the week at $170 per MT. As in the previous week, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained constant at $130 per MT during the week.

 

Lead Scrap Prices

Prices for Lead Scrap were stable as compared to the previous week.

North America

The prices of the commodity had not changed from the previous week, according to the Scrap Auto Batteries pricing data. Throughout the week, the price per pound remained constant at $0.22.

Throughout the week, the price per ton of scrap auto batteries stayed at $820, which was the same as the week before.

 

Zinc Scrap Prices

Zinc Scrap prices recorded no change in prices week-on-week.

North America

The price of New Zinc Die Cast stayed at $0.76 per pound. Additionally, the index indicated that the price of Old Zinc Die Cast remained constant from week to week. As of Thursday, June 5, 2025, the price of the commodity was $0.64 per pound.

Europe

New Zinc Die Cast's price was the same as it was the week before. At $800 per Tonne, the price remained unchanged week-on-week.
