The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index fell from $5.40 to $5.34 per pound as of Thursday, July 17, 2025, a weekly decline of 1.11%.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The following report provides the weekly global market price trends for the various scrap metal categories on the Scrap Monster Price Index for the week of July 11–July 17, 2025:

 

Copper Scrap Prices

Over the previous week, there was a marginal decline of 1.13% in copper scrap prices.

North America

Over the past week, #1 Copper Bare Bright's price has gone down by 1.11%. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing closed at $5.24 per pound, down 1.13% from the beginning of the week. Additionally, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing edged lower from $5.20 to $5.14 per pound, witnessing a weekly decline of 1.15%.

USA East Coast

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index fell from $5.40 to $5.34 per pound as of Thursday, July 17, 2025, a weekly decline of 1.11%. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing went lower from $5.30 to $5.24 per pound, registering a dip by 1.13% from the prior week. By the end of the week, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had dropped by 1.15% to $5.14 per pound.

USA Midwest

As of Thursday, July 17, 2025, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index was down 1.13% for the week, from $5.29 to $5.23 per pound. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing edged lower from the previous week’s closing price of $5.19 to $5.13 per pound. The average price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had decreased by 1.18% to $5.03 per pound by the conclusion of the week.

USA West Coast

According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright decreased by 1.10% over the week, from $5.46 to $5.40 per pound. Last week, the price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing dropped by 1.12%. By the conclusion of the previous week, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had gone down 1.14% from $5.26 to $5.20 per pound.

China

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the Index declined during the preceding week, which ended on July 17, 2025. The weekly closing price was CNY 76,850 per MT, which was lower than the price of CNY 77,550 per MT the week before. Compared to the previous week, the price of #1 Copper Wire & Tubing was down by 0.95%. Furthermore, the price of the Index's #2 Copper Wire and Tubing edged lower by 0.96% at the conclusion of the week, falling from CNY 72,850 per MT to CNY 72, 150 per MT.

Europe

The weekly price of #1 Copper Bare Bright stayed at $6,000 per tonne from the week before. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing remained at $5,200 per tonne on the Index, unchanged from the previous week. Furthermore, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing on the Index remained constant during the week ending July 17, 2025.

 

Brass Scrap Prices

The price of Brass scrap went lower by 0.33% over the previous week.

  

North America

By the end of the week, Red Brass prices had gone down from $3.13 to $3.12 per pound. On the Index, Yellow Brass also saw a decline. The commodity's price decreased by 0.34%, from $2.98 to $2.97 per pound.

Over the last week, Red Brass's price edged lower by 0.32%. At the end of the week, Yellow Brass's price per pound also declined from $2.98 to $2.97.

USA Midwest

Red Brass's reported price dropped by 0.33% from the previous week, falling from $3.07 to $3.06 per pound. The Index also showed that the price of Yellow Brass had declined. The price of the commodity registered a decline of 0.35% week-on-week.

USA West Coast

Red Brass was down modestly by 0.31% from the previous week, trading at $3.22 per pound as of Thursday, July 17, 2025. Additionally, Yellow Brass's price per pound fell by 0.33% from the previous week.

China

The week ending July 17, 2025, saw a dip in the price of Red Brass and Yellow Brass. According to the Index, the price of Red Brass dropped by 0.26% to CNY 38,300 per MT towards the end of the week, while the price of Yellow Brass decreased marginally by 0.28% to end the week at CNY 35,450 per MT.

 

Aluminum Scrap Prices

The Index's aluminum scrap prices recorded marginal decline of 0.21% over the previous week.

North America

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire inched lower by 0.85% on the Index in comparison to the previous week. The price of 6063 Extrusions at the conclusion of the week ending July 17, 2025, was flat at $0.92 per pound. The index showed no variation in Old Cast prices. In addition, UBC's prices were unchanged over the week prior.

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire reported a decline of 0.85% from the prior week. During the week ending July 17, 2025, the price of 6063 Extrusions was unchanged when compared to the previous week. The Index showed that the price of Old Cast has recorded no change. Additionally, UBC's prices witnessed no variation on the Index during the previous week.

USA Midwest

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded a fall of 0.85% since a week ago. Last week, the product's price closed at $1.16 per pound. In the meantime, 6063 Extrusions' price held steady from the week before. Old Cast and UBC recorded no change in prices from the previous week, according to the ScrapMonster Index.

USA West Coast

E.C. Aluminum Wire's price witnessed a decline of 0.85% over the previous week. The ScrapMonster Index indicates that the price of 6063 Extrusions held steady week-on-week. The prices of Old Cast in the Index were unchanged over the week. Additionally, UBC's pricing also remained flat as of July 17, 2025.

China

E.C. Aluminum wire saw a decline of 2.03% in prices from the previous week. The price of the commodity dropped from CNY 19,700 per MT to CNY 19,300 per MT over the week. Furthermore, 6063 Extrusions' price recorded 2.15% decline to end the week at CNY 18,200 per MT. As of July 17, 2025, Old Cast's price was down by 2.17% on the Index. At the end of the week, UBC prices on the Index closed at CNY 12,550 per MT.

Europe

The price of Old Cast was flat at $1,050 per tonne for the entire week. The ScrapMonster Index also shows that UBC prices remained same from the previous week at $1,250 per tonne.

 

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices 

The prices of Stainless Steel scrap recorded no change over the previous week’s prices.

North America

The weekly pricing trend analysis of 304 SS Solid showed that the commodity's price remained steady at $0.62 per pound, with no change over the previous week.

The preceding week, which ended on July 17, 2025, saw no change in the price of 304 SS Solid. The commodity's price was flat at $0.62 per pound.

USA Midwest

There was no change in 304 SS solid prices from week to week. At the end of the week, the Index's prices were $0.62 per pound.

USA West Coast

For the week ending July 17, 2025, 304 SS Solid prices stayed flat at $0.62 a pound.

China

The price of 304 SS Solid witnessed slight decline, falling by CNY 100 per MT during the week. In the week ending July 17, 2025, the price of the commodity closed at CNY 10,100 per MT.

Europe

The price of 304 SS Solid did not change from the previous week's price of $1,070 per ton.

 

Steel Scrap Prices

Steel Scrap prices reported no change when compared with the previous week.

North America

Over the previous week, there has been no change in the price of the #1 HMS. The commodity's price remained steady at $320 per MT. Additionally, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained constant at $370 per MT throughout the week. HMS 80/20 was priced at $265 per MT, same like it was the week before. Similarly, #1 Busheling's pricing remained unchanged throughout the week.

According to the ScrapMonster Index, #1 HMS's prices remained stable at $320 per MT throughout the week. The weekly price for Shredded Auto Scrap was $370 per MT, the same as the previous week. Throughout the week, the price of HMS 80/20 remained constant at $265 per MT. Additionally, the #1 Busheling rates in the Index did not change.

USA Midwest

The prices of #1 HMS have not altered in the past week. Shredded Auto Scrap was likewise flat during the week. The HMS 80/20 pricing for the Index stayed at $265 per MT. #1 Busheling remained at $420 per MT in the week ending July 17, 2025.

USA West Coast

Over the previous week, the #1 HMS's price has remained unchanged. The commodity's price remained steady at $320 per MT. Additionally, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained steady at $370 per MT throughout the week. HMS 80/20's pricing remained at $265 per MT from the previous week. Additionally, the price of #1 Busheling remained constant at $420 per MT throughout the week.

China

The #1 HMS prices remained unchanged from the previous week. The price of the commodity held steady at CNY 1,630 per MT.

Europe

According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 HMS stayed consistent throughout the week at $170 per MT. As in the previous week, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained constant at $130 per MT during the week.

 

Lead Scrap Prices

Prices for Lead Scrap were stable as compared to the previous week.

North America

The prices of the commodity had not changed from the previous week, according to the Scrap Auto Batteries pricing data. Throughout the week, the price per pound remained constant at $0.22.

Throughout the week, the price per ton of Scrap Auto Batteries stayed at $820, which was the same as the week before.

 

Zinc Scrap Prices

The prices of zinc scrap recorded 1.4% decline week-on-week.

North America

The price of New Zinc Die Cast were down by 1.28% over the previous week. Week-on-week, Old Zinc Die Cast prices likewise recorded decline by 1.52% on the Index. As of Thursday, July 17, 2025, the price of the commodity was $0.65 a pound.
