Weekly Scrap Metal Price Report- July 11, 2025

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The weekly global market price trends for the different scrap metal categories on the Scrap Monster Price Index for the week of July 3– July 10, 2025, are given in the report that follows:

Copper Scrap Prices

Over the previous week, there was a notable increase of 7.94% in copper scrap prices.

North America

Over the past week, #1 Copper Bare Bright's price has gone up by 7.78%. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing closed at $5.30 per pound, up 7.94% from the beginning of the week. Additionally, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing went up from $4.81 to $5.20 per pound, witnessing a weekly jump of 8.11%.

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index rose from $5.01 to $5.40 per pound as of Thursday, July 10, 2025, a weekly increase of 7.78%. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing went higher from $4.91 to $5.30 per pound, registering a jump by 7.94% from the prior week. By the end of the week, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had increased by 8.11% to $5.20 per pound.

USA Midwest

As of Thursday, July 10, 2025, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the ScrapMonster Index was up 7.96% for the week, from $4.90 to $5.29 per pound. #1 Copper Wire & Tubing edged higher from the previous week’s closing price. The average price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had increased by 0.43% to $5.19 per pound by the conclusion of the week.

USA West Coast

According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 Copper Bare Bright increased by 7.69% over the week, from $5.07 to $5.46 per pound. Last week, the price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing increased by 7.85%. By the conclusion of the previous week, #2 Copper Wire and Tubing had gone up 8.01% from $4.87 to $5.26 per pound.

China

The price of #1 Copper Bare Bright on the Index declined during the preceding week, which ended on July 10, 2025. The weekly closing price was CNY 77,850 per MT, which was lower than the price of CNY 79,750 per MT the week before. Compared to the previous week, the price of #1 Copper Wire & Tubing was down by 2.50%. Furthermore, the price of the Index's #2 Copper Wire and Tubing edged lower by 2.53% at the conclusion of the week, falling from CNY 75,050 per MT to CNY 73,150 per MT.

Europe

The weekly price of #1 Copper Bare Bright stayed at $6,000 per tonne from the week before. #1 Copper Wire and Tubing remained at $5,200 per tonne on the Index, unchanged from the previous week. Furthermore, the price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing on the Index remained constant during the week ending July 10, 2025.

Brass Scrap Prices

The price of brass scrap went higher by 4.10% over the previous week.

North America

By the end of the week, Red Brass prices had gone up from $3.01 to $3.13 per pound. On the Index, Yellow Brass also saw an increase. The commodity's price increased by 4.20%, from $2.86 to $2.98 per pound.

Over the last week, Red Brass's price edged higher by 3.99%. At the end of the week, Yellow Brass's price per pound also increased from $2.86 to $2.98.

USA Midwest

Red Brass's reported price increased by 4.07% from the previous week, from $2.95 to $3.07 per pound. The Index also showed that the price of Yellow Brass had increased. The price of the commodity increased by 4.33% week-on-week.

USA West Coast

Red Brass was up modestly by 3.86% from the previous week, trading at $3.23 per pound as of Thursday, July 10, 2025. Additionally, Yellow Brass's price per pound increased by 4.10% from the previous week.

China

The week ending July 10, 2025, saw a dip in the price of Red Brass and Yellow Brass. According to the Index, the price of Red Brass dropped by 0.90% to CNY 38,450 per MT towards the end of the week, while the price of Yellow Brass decreased marginally by 0.97% to end the week at CNY 35,600 per MT.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

The Index's aluminum scrap prices recorded marginal increase of 1.13% over the previous week.

North America

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire inched higher by 0.85% on the Index in comparison to the previous week. The price of 6063 Extrusions at the conclusion of the week ending July 10, 2025, was $0.92 per pound, rising by 1.10% week-on-week. The index showed a 1.30% jump in Old Cast prices. In addition, UBC's prices were up by 1.28% over the week prior.

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire reported an increase of 0.85% from the prior week. During the week ending July 10, 2025, the price of 6063 Extrusions was up by 1.10% when compared to the previous week. The Index showed that the price of Old Cast has edged higher by 1.30%. Additionally, UBC's prices witnessed a jump of 1.28% on the Index during the previous week.

USA Midwest

The price of E.C. Aluminum Wire recorded an increase of 0.85% since a week ago. Last week, the product's price closed at $1.18 per pound. In the meantime, 6063 Extrusions' price increased by 1.12% from the week before. Old Cast and UBC recorded price jumps of 1.33% and 1.30%, respectively, from the previous week, according to the ScrapMonster Index.

USA West Coast

E.C. Aluminum Wire's price witnessed a jump of 0.85% over the previous week. The ScrapMonster Index indicates that the price of 6063 Extrusions witnessed a marginal jump of 1.10% week-on-week. The prices of Old Cast in the Index were up by 1.28% over the week. Additionally, UBC's pricing also increased by 1.27% as of July 10, 2025.

China

E.C. Aluminum wire saw no change in prices from the previous week, holding steady at CNY 19,700 per MT. Furthermore, 6063 Extrusions' price remained flat at CNY 18,600 per MT compared with the week before. As of July 10, 2025, Old Cast's price was flat on the Index. At the end of the week, UBC prices on the Index closed at CNY 12,700 per MT, unchanged from the week before that.

Europe

The price of Old Cast was flat at $1,050 per tonne for the entire week. The ScrapMonster Index also shows that UBC prices remained same from the previous week at $1,250 per tonne.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices 

The prices of Stainless Steel scrap recorded marginal decline by 1.59% over the previous week’s prices.

North America

The weekly pricing trend analysis of 304 SS Solid showed that the commodity's price edged lower by 1.59% to $0.62 per pound over the previous week.

The preceding week, which ended on July 10, 2025, saw the price of 304 SS Solid drop by 1.59%. The commodity's price ended the week at $0.62 per pound.

USA Midwest

There was a small decline in 304 SS solid prices from week to week. At the end of the week, the Index's prices were down by 1.59% at $0.62 per pound.

USA West Coast

For the week ending July 10, 2025, 304 SS Solid prices recorded a week-on-week decline by 1.59%.

China

The price of 304 SS Solid registered a nominal decline during the week. In the week ending July 10, 2025, the stated price of the commodity dropped from CNY 10,150 per MT to CNY 10,100 per MT.

Europe

The price of 304 SS Solid did not change from the previous week's price of $1,070 per ton.

Steel Scrap Prices

Steel Scrap prices reported no change when compared with the previous week.

North America

Over the previous week, there has been no change in the price of the #1 HMS. The commodity's price remained steady at $320 per MT. Additionally, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained constant at $370 per MT throughout the week. HMS 80/20 was priced at $265 per MT, same like it was the week before. Similarly, #1 Busheling's pricing remained unchanged throughout the week.

Throughout the week, the price of HMS 80/20 remained constant at $265 per MT. Additionally, the #1 Busheling rates in the Index did not change.

USA Midwest

The prices of #1 HMS have not altered in the past week. Shredded Auto Scrap was likewise flat during the week. The HMS 80/20 pricing for the Index stayed at $265 per MT. #1 Busheling remained at $420 per MT in the week ending July 10, 2025.

USA West Coast

Over the previous week, the #1 HMS's price has remained unchanged. The commodity's price remained steady at $320 per MT. Additionally, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained steady at $370 per MT throughout the week. HMS 80/20's pricing remained at $265 per MT from the previous week. Additionally, the price of #1 Busheling remained constant at $420 per MT throughout the week.

China

The #1 HMS prices remained unchanged from the previous week. The price of the commodity held steady at CNY 1,630 per MT.

Europe

According to the ScrapMonster Index, the price of #1 HMS stayed consistent throughout the week at $170 per MT. As in the previous week, the price of Shredded Auto Scrap remained constant at $130 per MT during the week.

Lead Scrap Prices

Prices for Lead Scrap were stable as compared to the previous week.

North America

The prices of the commodity had not changed from the previous week, according to the Scrap Auto Batteries pricing data. Throughout the week, the price per pound remained constant at $0.22.

Throughout the week, the price per ton of Scrap Auto Batteries stayed at $820, which was the same as the week before.

Zinc Scrap Prices

The prices of zinc scrap recorded increase week-on-week.

North America

The price of New Zinc Die Cast were up by 1.30% over the previous week. Week-on-week, Old Zinc Die Cast prices likewise recorded increase by 1.54% on the Index. As of Thursday, July 10, 2025, the price of the commodity was $0.66 a pound.

Europe

New Zinc Die Cast's price was the same as it was the week before. At $800 per Tonne, the price remained unchanged week-on-week.
