2024 Waste-to-Energy Technical Assistance for State, Local, and Tribal Governments

Waste & Recycling  |  2024-03-13 00:05:35

Waste streams, like food waste and plastic waste, represent significant environmental, economic, and social sustainability challenges for communities.

SEATTLE (Waste Advantage): The U.S Department of Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) are launching the next phase of the Waste-to-Energy Technical Assistance for State, Local, and Tribal Governments.

Waste streams, like food waste and plastic waste, represent significant environmental, economic, and social sustainability challenges for communities. Given that these waste streams require local solutions on various aspects of their management, this technical assistance program seeks to provide state, local, and tribal governments with the most relevant data for their decision-making. BETO will fund up to 40 hours of subject-matter assistance on a menu of options including waste resource information, energy and resource recovery options, techno-economic evaluation, case studies, among others.

Online applications are quick and simple and open March 4– April 15, 2024.
