U.S. Steel Selected Osceola as the Location for its New Steelmaking Facility

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Pittsburgh-based leading steelmaker United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) announced that it has selected Osceola, Arkansas as the location for its next generation steelmaking facility. The advanced steelmaking facility will be located close to its existing Big River Steel plant.

The final selection of the site will be subject to a number of factors, including agreements with key partners. The permitting for the project is under progress and it expects to break ground on the project during the first quarter of 2022, with full operations scheduled in 2024, said the company press release.
