U.S. Steel's Disability Inclusion Policy Won Esteemed Honor

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): United States Steel Corporation (U.S. Steel) was named a “Best Place to Work for Disability Inclusion.” The business has received this esteemed honor for the fifth year in a row. The main benchmarking instrument for disability inclusion policies and programs, the Disability Index, gave the steelmaker a perfect score of 100.

Culture & Leadership, Enterprise-Wide Access, Employment Practices, Community Engagement, Supplier Inclusion, and Responsible Procurement are the six main areas that the Disability Index evaluates performance in.

The company credited a number of factors for its high rating in the index, including its commitment to lifelong learning and development, its persistent pursuit of competitive advantages, and its efforts to guarantee equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

"The company is honored by the recognition," said Tara Carraro, Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer at U.S. Steel and Executive Sponsor of the SteelABILITY ERG. According to Carraro, the accomplishment is a testament to SteelABILITY's continuous efforts to promote greater knowledge and comprehension of disability-related issues and a mark of distinction for each member.
