U.S. Steel Announces Key Changes to Executive Leadership

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Pittsburgh-based US Steel Corporation has announced changes to its executive team. The decision was announced by David B. Burritt, President and CEO, U.S. Steel.

Duane Holloway will join the company as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Corporate Secretary. Also, Richard L. Fruehauf will henceforth serve as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development. Both Holloway and Fruehauf will be reporting directly to Burritt.

Holloway will have executive responsibility for all legal and compliance matters at the company. He has proven track record, being associated with some of the world’s most reputed companies. His experience in development and execution of sound legal, governance and compliance strategies will help the company to successfully navigate challenging legal issues. Burritt expressed the hope that Duane would be a great fit for this critical role.

Duane has vast years of experience with leading companies such as Ascena Retail Group, CoreLogic, Inc. and Caesars Entertainment Corporation. He is a graduate in pshychology from the University of Virginia. He is also a graduate of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Law.

Fruehauf will be responsible for several key functions that are likely to play important role in the company’s next transition phase. Strategic Planning and Business Development, Innovation, Governmental Affairs, Environmental Affairs and Sustainability and Corporate Communications are the primary responsibilities assigned to him. It must be noted that he has been serving as Interim General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer.

Fruehauf has served in reputed companies including Alcoa and has also served in a number of national security positions. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown University, a Master of Public Policy degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, and received his law degree from the University Of Virginia School Of Law.
