Over the course of the week, the United States produced 1.656 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): According to the American Iron and Steel Institute's (AISI) most recent weekly domestic production figures, U.S. weekly raw steel production increased by roughly 0.80% during the week ending February 1, 2025. A comparison between this week and the same week last year served as the basis for this.
The United States produced 1.656 million net tons (NT) of domestic raw steel during the week. The domestic mill capacity were utilized at a rate of 74.4%. It's crucial to keep in mind that production reached 1.643 million NT in the same week last year, but with a slightly lower capacity utilization rate of 73.9%.
At a capability utilization rate of 73.7%, crude steel production generated 1.641 million NT during the week ending January 25, 2025, just higher by 0.9% from the previous week.
The Southern region produced the most, with 745,000 net tons. The Great Lakes region produced 503,000 net tons throughout the week. The productions (in thousand net tons) of the other regions are North East-118, Midwest-233, and Western-57.
With a capability utilization rate of 74.0%, the adjusted year-to-date output as of February 1, 2025, was 7.534 million net tons. Compared to the same time in 2024, when production was 7.461 million net tons with a capacity utilization rate of 73.3%, this indicates a 1.0% rise.
