SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): The U.S. Plastics Pact (USPP) celebrated five years of its operations, bringing together various stakeholders in creating a circular economy for plastic packaging. The USSP is one among the worldwide Plastic Pacts that spans continents, representing over 900 organizations.

The USSP member companies and organizations have reinforced their commitment to sustainability over the five-year period by reducing their use of virgin plastics, boosting the amount of recycled content in packaging and by outperforming other companies on key sustainability metrics. The transparent reporting system followed by the member companies and collaboration on shared goals have helped them to set a new benchmark for the entire industry.

Recently, the USSP had announced launch of a new Roadmap 2.0 in place of its original Roadmap to 2025, by setting updated targets and reiterating its commitment to eliminate plastic waste.

Commenting on the milestone achievement, Jonathan Quinn, President & CEO of the U.S. Plastics Pact noted that it is proud of the progress. The journey toward a truly circular economy for plastic packaging is ongoing, and the best is yet to come, he added.
