SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): TEL Plastics, a well-known recycling company in Bangladesh, declared that by 2027, one-fourth of its goods would be made from recycled plastic. TEL Plastics' executive director, Kamrul Hassan, stated that the company has been instrumental in establishing recycling as a major industrial subject in the nation. He asserts that plastics by themselves do not cause pollution. Plastic pollution is ultimately caused by consumers' irresponsible disposal and businesses' improper collection. He emphasized the importance of using plastics sensibly.

By lowering dependency on imports of virgin raw materials, TEL Plastics has helped save foreign exchange. To guarantee that plastics are sourced responsibly, it has established 12 collection centers throughout the nation. Over the years, it has also made large expenditures in infrastructure for recycling.

It is projected that the company can currently recycle 500 metric tons annually. In 2024, recycled plastics accounted for 15% of its production. By 2027, the corporation wants to increase this to 25%. In the near future, it also intends to export its recovered goods to markets in Europe.
