With a production of 105.3 Mt for the month, Asia and Oceania was the region that produced the most steel.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): In September of this year, 71 nations that report to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) produced 143.6 million tonnes (Mt) of crude steel worldwide, a considerable decrease of 4.7% from the same month the previous year.
The region that produced the most steel for the month was Asia and Oceania, with 105.3 Mt. The EU-27 region was the second-largest producer with 10.5 Mt of production. The North American nations ranked third with an output of 8.6 Mt. The other regions' output (in Mt) is divided as follows: South America (3.5), the Middle East (3.5), Other Europe (3.6), Africa (1.9), and Russia and the rest of the CIS+ Ukraine (6.8).

Only four regions had an increase in crude steel production year over year: South America, Africa, Other Europe, and the EU-27. With a 4.1% increase over the previous year, the output from the Other Europe area increased the most. With a slight 0.3% increase, the EU-27 region saw the least increase in output.
Reports indicate that during the month, production declined in all other regions. With a 23% decrease in production, the Middle East had the largest drop. The other two regions that reported notable year-over-year drops in crude steel production volumes were Asia & Oceania and Russia and the other CIS+ Ukraine, with declines of 5.0% and 7.6%, respectively.
September of this year saw a 3.4% decrease in North American output compared to the same month last year.
