SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): U.S. steel mill shipments recorded a strong increase in March 2026, reflecting continued recovery in domestic steel demand, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI). Total shipments reached 8.20 million net tons, marking a 10.9% rise compared with February 2026 shipments of 7.40 million net tons and a 6.2% increase from March 2025 levels of 7.73 million net tons.

On a year-to-date basis, U.S. steel mills shipped 23.18 million net tons through March 2026, representing a 4.4% increase compared with 22.20 million net tons recorded during the same period in 2025. The data highlights steady momentum in the steel sector during the first quarter of 2026.
