SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Tata Steel has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) to accelerate the development of low-carbon steelmaking technologies, reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The collaboration will focus on four strategic areas: scrap-based steelmaking, steel waste valorisation, end-product performance, and carbon capture and utilisation. Research teams from Tata Steel, Tata Steel Research and Innovation Limited, and USTB will jointly develop scalable solutions aimed at reducing carbon emissions while maintaining efficiency and product quality.
