Peru's Steel bar production jumps 52% m-o-m in Aug: INEI

Peruvian steelmakers, Aceros Arequipa and Siderperu together produced 87,320 tons of steel bars for construction in August this year, advanced sharply by 52% from July of 57,441 tons, as per the latest data released by the Instituto Nacional de EstadÃstica e Informática (INEI).

LIMA (Scrap Monster): Peruvian steelmakers, Aceros Arequipa and Siderperu together produced 87,320 tons of steel bars for construction in August this year, advanced sharply by 52% from July of 57,441 tons, as per the latest data released by the Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (INEI).
In July, the major two steelmakers cut production and operation rate was 38.2% and it jumped to 55.3% in August compared to about 50%~55% in the same period of a year ago.
In the first eight months of this year, the country's bar production amounted to 617,953 tons for construction purpose, increased by 16% from 553,497 tons in the same period of last year.
