SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Gautier Steel has been awarded a $664,679 state grant for sidewalk improvements along Clinton Street and near its Johnstown facility, according to state rep Frank Burns, D-Cambria.
The funding comes through Pennsylvania’s Multimodal Transportation Fund, which supports transportation and infrastructure projects across the state.
The sidewalk renovation is one of 50 transportation-related projects across 27 counties to receive grants this year.
Burns said the grant will help improve pedestrian infrastructure while ensuring Cambria County receives its share of state investment.
“I’m constantly advocating for Cambria County to get its fair share of state funding,” Burns said. “Believe me, if this money weren’t coming home, it would go somewhere else. I’m glad to see this money going toward needed sidewalk improvements right here in our district.”
