Steel Union Workers Negotiate their First Contract with Plant

There are around 300 union members at the plant negotiating their first contract with the plant.

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): An offer has been presented during the steel union negotiations at Texarkana Aluminum.
Last week, KSLA first mentioned the contract negotiations between the United Steel Workers (USW) union local 9609 and the Texarkana Aluminum plant.
There are around 300 union members at the plant negotiating their first contract with the plant.
On Thursday, Aug. 28, KSLA learned that the two parties have reached an attentive agreement subject to a vote by union members.
“They discussed the points policy, which is an attendance policy out there, they discuss our pay, they discuss the verbiage in the old contract, trying to clean up the old contract (so, when you say pay, does it increase pay?)Yes, sir,” says Kurk Hull, a USW Union member.
Hull said the entire union is slated to vote on this work agreement tomorrow and if the vote is not to accept, they will return to the negotiation table.
