Smurfit Kappa Announces Major Investment in Mexico

SEATTLE (Scrap Monster): Smurfit Kappa- the global packaging leader announced its decision to continue its investment in Mexico. The company committed to make significant investment in sustainable technology in that country.

According to company press release, Smurfit Kappa will invest in a state-of-the-art new digital printer at its Atlacomulco Corrugated Plant in Mexico. The installation of the Barberan Jetmaster 1890 printer will help the company meet the increased demand for high-volume digital printing. The capacity of the new high performance multi-colour printer is estimated at around 12 million m2 per annum. This will lead to significant reduction in lead time to get products to market, the press release said.
