September 1, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Reported Mixed Trend on the Index

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices also were up by CNY 150 per MT on the Index.

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): The Chinese aluminum scrap prices witnessed a marginal decline on ScrapMonster Price Index as of Monday, September 1, 2025. Copper scrap prices were up from the previous day. Brass/Bronze and Stainless Steel scrap prices recorded increase when matched with the prior day’s prices. In the meantime, Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.
Copper Scrap Prices
The #1 Copper Bare Bright prices were up by CNY 300 per MT.
#1 Copper Wire and Tubing price saw a jump of CNY 300 per MT.
The price of #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also increased by CNY 300 per MT.
#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were up by CNY 150 per MT over the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery witnessed an increase of CNY 50 per MT when compared with the day before.
Copper Transformer and Cu Yokes scrap prices were unchanged on the Index.
Cu/Al Radiators were up by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day.
Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices held steady on the Index.
The price of Heater Cores witnessed a jump of CNY 100 per MT on Monday, September 1, 2025.
Also, Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices held steady on the Index.
Aluminum Scrap Prices
6063 Extrusions recorded a decline of CNY 100 per MT in prices over the previous day.
Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 100 per MT.
The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers saw a fall of CNY 50 per MT each.
E.C Aluminum Wire prices decreased by CNY 100 per MT on the Index.
Old Cast and Old Sheet prices also edged lower by CNY 100 per MT each on September 1, 2025.
The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF dropped by CNY 50 per MT each from the previous day.
Steel Scrap Prices
#1 HMS prices held steady on September 1, 2025.
Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.
Stainless Steel Scrap Prices
201 SS prices edged higher by CNY 100 per MT on the Index.
304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices also were up by CNY 150 per MT on the Index.
309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices increased by CNY 200 per MT when compared with the prior day.
310 SS scrap prices were up by CNY 250 per MT as of September 1, 2025.
Shred SS prices witnessed a minor increase of CNY 150 per MT over the previous day.
Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices
The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded increase from the previous day.
Brass Radiator scrap prices were flat as of Monday, September 1, 2025.
Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices were up by CNY 50 per MT on the Index.
