July 7, 2025: Chinese Scrap Metal Prices Dropped on the Index

BEIJING (Scrap Monster): As of Monday, July 7, 2025, Chinese Copper scrap prices recorded modest decline on the ScrapMonster Price Index. Aluminum, Brass/Bronze and Stainless scrap prices dropped when compared with the previous day. In the meantime Steel scrap prices held steady on the Index.

Copper Scrap Prices

#1 Copper Bare Bright prices were down by CNY 450 per MT over the previous day. The price of #1 Copper Wire and Tubing and #2 Copper Wire and Tubing also declined by CNY 450 per MT each.

#1 Insulated Copper Wire 85% Recovery prices were down by CNY 200 per MT upon comparison with the previous day’s price. The price of #2 Insulated Copper Wire 50% Recovery prices declined by CNY 100 per MT over the previous day.

Copper Transformer scrap prices were flat on the Index.

Cu Yokes scrap prices recorded a decline of CNY 50 per MT.

Cu/Al Radiator and Harness Wire 35% Recovery prices were down by CNY 100 per MT and CNY 50 per MT respectively over the previous day’s prices.

Heater Cores prices dropped by CNY 150 per MT as of Monday, July 7, 2025.

Scrap Electric Motors and Sealed Units prices witnessed no change over the previous day’s price.

Aluminum Scrap Prices

6063 Extrusions declined by CNY 200 per MT in prices over the previous day.

Aluminum Ingots also were down by CNY 200 per MT.

The prices of Aluminum Radiators and Aluminum Transformers witnessed decline by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.

E.C Aluminum Wire prices inched lower by CNY 200 per MT.

Old Cast and Old Sheet prices dropped by CNY 200 per MT each as of July 7, 2025.

The prices of UBC and Zorba 90% INF were down by CNY 100 per MT each from the previous day’s price.

Steel Scrap Prices

#1 HMS prices held steady as of July 7, 2025.

Cast Iron Scrap also reported no change in prices.

Stainless Steel Scrap Prices

201 SS prices were flat on the Index.

304 SS Solid and 304 SS Turning prices were down by CNY 50 per MT each on the Index.

309 SS and 316 SS Solid prices witnessed decline by CNY 100 per MT each when compared with the prior day.

310 SS scrap prices also were down by CNY 150 per MT as of July 7, 2025.

Shred SS prices edged lower by CNY 50 per MT over the previous day’s price.        

Brass/Bronze Scrap Prices

The Brass/Bronze Scrap prices in China recorded decline on the Index.

Brass Radiator scrap prices were down by CNY 50 pert MT as of July 7, 2025.

Red Brass and Yellow Brass prices also declined by CNY 100 per MT each on the Index.
